By Plane

We recommend to fly to Düsseldorf Airport, Frankfurt Airport or Bruxelles Airport for international flights and Cologne/Bonn Airport or Düsseldorf Airport for domestic flights. They share roughly the same travelling time if you take the train to get to Aachen. However, Cologne and Düsseldorf are the nearest to Aachen if you plan to arrive via car.

By Train

Cologne/Bonn: Take the RE6 from Cologne/Bonn Airport to Köln Messe/Deutz from where you can take either the RE1 or the RE9 to Aachen Hauptbahnhof. The estimated travelling time will be 1:20h.

Düsseldorf: The RE1 will take you directly from Düsseldorf Airport to Aachen Hauptbahnhof. The estimated travelling time will be 1:35h.

Frankfurt: Take the ICE to Bruxelles Midi from Frankfurt Airport Fernbf. It will take you to Aachen Hauptbahnhof in about 1:33h.

Bruxelles: Take the ICE to Frankfurt from Bruxelles-Nord. It will take you to Aachen Hauptbahnhof in about 1:02h.

By Car

The travelling-time from Cologne and Düsseldorf is a little more than one hour, from Bruxelles 1:30h and from Frankfurt 2:30. You will either arrive from the north-east or north-west via A4. We recommend to use the Talbot parking space of the RWTH Aachen University.
